2 Women Sentenced In Connection With Attack
A man who kidnapped a Big Island woman, shot her in the forest and left her for dead has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Two women who helped him have also been sentenced.
Police originally charged Rodney Dean Bohol, 38, with attempted murder. Bohol pleaded guilty to kidnapping, assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The victim survived seven days in the forest after being beaten and shot with birdshot.
Two of Bohol’s cousins, Jody Lassen and her sister Danolin Souza, were each sentenced to two years in prison and 10 years probation.
The women said Bohol forced them to assist in the crime.
