An overabundance of petroleum jelly continues to cloud Georges St. Pierre’s dominating win over Hilo native BJ Penn.

The Nevada state athletic commission is in investigating accusations that St. Pierre’s corner intentionally applied the slippery stuff to the welterweight champ’s shoulders and upper back.

According to UFC rules, petroleum jelly may only be applied to a fighter’s face.

If St. Pierre’s camp is found guilty, penalties could involve a suspension. Penn’s lawyers say BJ has requested a rematch.

If you’d like to show some love to Hawaii’s lightweight champ, there will be a rally for BJ Penn at Ala Moana Shopping Center Centerstage on Valentine’s Day at 2 p.m.

The event will feature Hawaii’s other MMA fighters like Kendall Grove, Troy Mandaloniz, Shane Nelson and Brandon Wolff.
